  • Mood swings
  • Depression

  • Night sweats/hot flashes

What is BioTE Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy?

A hormonal imbalance can lead to multiple conditions that can impact your quality of life, including difficulty sleeping, depression and/or anxiety, loss of energy and fatigue, and a decrease in sexual desire. BioTE bioidentical hormone replacement therapy helps restore and balance hormones within the body using non-synthetic, plant-based hormones that are biologically identical to the hormones naturally produced by the body.

BioTE bioidentical hormone replacement therapy uses pellet therapy to balance and maintain hormone levels within the body. This treatment method can improve and sustain hormone levels for approximately four to six months.

Benefits of BioTe Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy

  • Increase in energy
  • Improvement in mental focus
  • Reduced mood swings
  • Relief of menopause symptoms
  • Increase in libido
  • Increase in muscle and bone mass
  • Improvement in sleep quality

What are the Benefits of Pellet Therapy?

Pellet therapy ensures the hormones are administered consistently throughout the day, without the risk of mood swings or missed doses. BioTE pellet therapy is a minimally-invasive treatment with very little chance of adverse reactions. The pellets are inserted into fatty tissue beneath the skin, usually in the gluteal region of the body, and release the hormones into the body.

Pellet therapy is more effective than other hormone replacement therapies because the pellets are pure hormone and your body is able to use the appropriate amount of hormone as the blood flow surrounds the pellet. Other hormone replacement therapies, like pills or shots, are less effective because they are metabolized by the body when passing through the stomach, liver, or skin.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments required can vary from patient to patient. Most female patients typically need a reinsertion of pellets every three to four months, while most male patients usually need a reinsertion treatment every four to five months. During your consultation, our expert staff will recommend the appropriate treatment plan to suit your specific needs and goals.

TOPICAL HORMONE CREAMS
The cream is applied to the arms, abdomen or shoulder, daily. Absorption of the cream can vary from person to person.

TESTOSTERONE INJECTIONS
The testosterone injection is administered weekly. Injections can be given at your doctors office or at home.

HORMONE SKIN PATCHES
Skin patches are easy to use, but can cause allergic skin reactions and can peel off due to sweating.

ESTROGENS
Low levels of estrogen cause hot flashes and night sweats which are the most common symptoms of menopause.
Low estrogen levels also lead to:

  • Loss of bone strength and development of osteoporosis
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Hair loss

PROGESTERONE
Progesterone has an important role in balancing the effect of estrogen on different tissues in women.
Low levels of progesterone can cause:

  • PMS and anxiety
  • Heavy or irregular menstrual bleeding
  • Constipation and bloating
  • Insomnia
  • Increased risk of breast, uterine and ovarian cancer

TESTOSTERONE
Testosterone is the primary male sex hormone, but it is also very important in females for normal sexual development and for maintaining sexual desire along with healthy skin, muscle and bone. Unrecognized testosterone deficiency can be the reason for suboptimal relief of menopausal symptoms with hormone replacement therapy.
